Allow yourself to be helped: Loneliness isn’t good for people seeking “good luck.” According to the popular saying, it’s not exactly the recommended counselor. Having alliances with others, asking for advice and allowing others to collaborate on your projects, or at least give you their opinions, is also a way to be lucky. The more helping hands there are, the easier it is to be successful in achieving that which you so desire.
In all areas of your life, career, relationships, health. You don’t have to have a crystal clear picture. But without a vision, it’s difficult to create anything. You’ll just be throwing paint at the wall instead of creating a work of art. See this visual often but don’t tie it to your happiness. It’s there. It’s waiting. But it’s doesn’t determine your happiness today.
I used to do a lot of work helping people to stop smoking. There are only 2 reasons people don’t stop smoking. One, because they don’t want to (often this is subconscious) Two, because they don’t believe it’s possible. Or they assume it will be incredibly difficult and painful, and they can’t do it without suffering forever. (Again, this is often subconscious and it is a flawed assumption).
You can do this yourself. You can become someone who purposefully creates ripples in the universe. Did you know, everything you do energetically ripples out and affects others? And the ripples then come back to you. This process is fast. Don’t underestimate how possible it is for you to be a true catalyst for change. You can be a magnet for all the positive ripples floating around out there. Like a radio station, you can tune into the good stuff. Starting right now.

Think of it as a radio signal. As you scan through the radio, in-between stations fight for a signal. Most people are pretty familiar with this experience. The two stations compete and occasionally you’ll hear one song and then parts of a different song start to edge in. You’ll notice that neither station comes in perfectly crisp and clear. In the same manner, when you experience doubt or fear, those thoughts and feelings interrupt and compete with your desires.

LOA is one of those things that just baffles me as to why people buy into it. It literally amounts to nothing more substantial than, "Close your eyes, cross your fingers, and wish on a star, then alllllll your dreams will come truuuuuue!" It survives on the average person's ignorance of advanced science and their tendency to assume that someone using big words and "sciencey-sounding" concepts must know what they're talking about.


Recite positive affirmations. Positive affirmations help condition your subconscious mind to become more open to rewards of the universe. It helps you think positively, which results in positive actions. Repeating positive affirmations not only help convince your mind but also translate the positivity into positive actions. Lucky people tell themselves they are lucky. They say things like, ‘Things will work out for me,’ ‘This failure is temporary. I know things will turn around,’ ‘I am a lucky person.’ Lucky people also experience failures, but unlike unlucky people, lucky ones expect failures to be short-lived.

Napoleon Hill published two books on the theme. The first, The Law of Success in 16 Lessons (1928), directly and repeatedly references the Law of Attraction and proposes that it operates by use of radio waves transmitted by the brain. The second, Think and Grow Rich (1937), went on to sell 100 million copies by 2015.[60] Hill insisted on the importance of controlling one's own thoughts in order to achieve success, as well as the energy that thoughts have and their ability to attract other thoughts. He mentions a "secret" to success and promises to indirectly describe it at least once in every chapter. It is never named and he says that discovering it on one's own is far more beneficial. Many people have argued over what it[61] actually is, some claim it's the Law of Attraction. Hill states the "secret" is mentioned no fewer than a hundred times, yet reference to "attract" is used less than 30 times in the text. He further claims that people can obtain what they desire through thought of definite purpose.[62]

This book has an old-fashioned voice in the same vein as Napolean Hill's Think and Get Rich, but it is a classic. It gives true and tried advice with many examples, so one or more of the examples should speak to you. This "luck" is not magical; it is about being prepared for opportunities that appear and approaching life with zest. For example, three secretarial applicants witness a blow-up in the office where they are waiting for an interview, they react emotionally and gossip to each other about it. The third listens to the problem being argued about and addresses a possible solution in the interview. The "opportunity" was meeting a possible new employer and the "luck" was being prepared to offer a solution right when it was needed. Needless to say, that person got the job!


Expect good luck. Lucky people are always optimistic about their future. They have high expectations for their life. They believe that unpredictable and uncontrollable events will work out for them, while unlucky people believe that such events will work against them. Expectations have an influence over people’s thoughts and behavior. Those who believe good things will happen to them attract good luck and fortune into their life. What you give out, you get. Even if not instantly, you may notice that when you expect good things to happen, over time they will.
While you may give someone the evil eye when they annoy you, people used to take malevolent looks much more seriously. Usually triggered by jealousy, giving someone an evil eye was supposed to cause all manner of suffering including mental illness and physical maladies. For thousands of years, people have been using evil eye talismans, or nazur, to ward off the bad luck caused by these curses.
This wonderful book confirms and drives home what I try so hard to do...FOCUS on what I DO want as opposed to what I DON'T want. As I always say, "We have the choice to see the GOOD in people and the CHOICE to take the RIGHT road." But it's so hard to do. We create our own reality. When there is a person in your life who chooses to see the bad in you and makes sure you are aware of his or her distaste or low opinion of you, (true or not), you feel bad. This person sees life through critical eyes and only sees bad, ugly and distasteful. It really isn't you at all. It's that person and that person needs to help himself or herself. You can't fix it. We all do the best we can with the hand we are dealt. Sometimes to keep focused on the positive and the good we need to weed people out of our lives so we can stay focused on the positive. If possible, we can try to understand why this type of person does this. It's these peoples own insecurity usually that drives them to try measures to cope that usually involve manipulaion of the people around them. They want so badly to be accepted and loved. After all, that's what we all want most in the world. You'd think that since we all want the same thing basically, why relationships are so hard. These people try to emulate other people on the surface, place themselves on a pedestal to get that attention that is craved. Then when people don't buy into it the person gets irate and lashes out. It's a sad state of affairs and it's hard for the people in these peoples lives to deal with the problem. It takes a very special person to try to understand and deal with the problem. You can spend only so many years trying; sometimes the impossible situation needs to be aborted for the sanity of all concerned. These people are just completely miserable to be around and the irony is that they accuse others of having the very flaws that they are guilty of. Being positive can only go so far. Some situations are impossible and it isn't worth beating yourself up over. There are few Saints in the world, however, one or two DO pop into mind I know personally. I have so many wonderful people in my life, as I'm sure we all do, people I treasure in my life who live the values in this book. We all are surrounded by so many people that we choose to be around because of the genuine, unassuming, caring people they are. In turn, they allow us to be the person we want to be and return their admirable qualities. The hardest is being that positive, genuine person to someone who openly finds fault with everything and everybody. Therein lies the challenge. Sometimes life's challenges force you to make heart breaking choices and what you want doesn't happen no matter how positive you try to be. You can only do the best you can. Even though most of this book is pure common sense, it helps to read the obvious more than once until it's engrained in our brains to stay focused on good vibes. Yes, ask yourself what you want, not what you don't want. This book keeps you focused on LISTENING to your common sense! Ultimately, by all means, project positive, to receive positive. BUY IT! READ IT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

It is said that lucky things always happen to lucky people. Furthermore, it is said that you are either born lucky or you’re not; you either have the Luck of the Irish or you don’t; you either are blessed with the Luck Factor or you’re crippled with the hoodoo of bad luck. Good luck therefore is either a part of who you are or simply “apart” from who you are, and there is nothing you can do about it.
You’re also competing with other people’s intentions – both good and bad. So, be aware that if your desire is in direct conflict with someone else’s stronger desire, the universe will respond accordingly. The Law of Attraction does not give you full and total control of your life, it simply states that like will attract like. You can use this to your advantage by being intentional with your desires, but this isn’t magic.

The original creators of the law of attraction going back to the 1880s including Prentice Mulford,James Allen, Thomas Troward, William Walker Atkinson, Bruce MacLelland, Wallace Wattles, Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, and W. Clement Stone promoted the belief that this is a universal law in which you attract only what you are thinking about. Modern LOA proponents such as Rhonda Byrne, Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Joe Vitale, The Hicks family, and many others have stated similar beliefs.

Magical thinking is also important for letting loose and having a good time. Brugger finds a positive correlation between magical ideation and the ability to find pleasure in life. More magic, more fun. (As long as reality stays within arm’s reach.) “Those students who are not magical are not typically those who enjoy going to parties,” he says. “To be totally unmagic is very unhealthy.”
And they'll try to use the "LoA" as a way to get more 'things' which really just satisfies ones ego and comes from a place of lack. They use it as a tool, as a means to an end. But it's not a tool, it's more of a "this is how it works" and being consciously aware of how it works can be pretty powerful, just not *necessarily* in the way many would think (red lamborghinis and such).
Good feelings lead to a good reality. Put on your favorite song, paint a picture, have fun with your pet, or think of someone or something that you love, something that makes you happy, and just shut your eyes and dwell on this. These can be called Frequency Shifters, so have a few up your sleeve. Different thoughts work for different situations, so think of a few now you can use later.

I have known of the Law Of Attraction (LOA) for many years, and first went to hear Abraham in the early 1980s, but I considered the LOA too simple a formula, too cute, to be all that Abraham says. But, after another 35 years of spiritual study, I found myself once again back at the LOA. Only this time with a realization: the LOA is the gravity of the Universe. Perhaps not in a purely physical sense, but by analogy, it is exactly that
Positive thoughts lead to positive attitudes and positive behaviors. Positive people have more friends, better relationships, better jobs, get more promotions, are healthier and have improved immune systems. This is positive psychology, not a metaphysical phenomenon. It forms the basis of a Principle of Attraction in which Like tends to and often attracts Like...but not always.
There’s no doubt whatsoever, that when my daughter decides she’s going to be a princess, she doesn’t say she’s going to pretend to be a princess or to do princess things. She says, “I’m going to BE a princess,” and she does precisely that. She believes it with every fiber of her being. She’s a princess. You point to a chair or the table and say, “Is that a princess castle?” The answer is “Absolutely it’s a princess castle!”
I only read 14% of this book when I stopped because I thought it was wasting my time. It seemed to say that to attract good luck you need to get out and meet as many people as possible and hope that you're lucky and say something to someone that will be able to help you. I've read other books that have been more helpful. Maybe it gets better the further along you read, but I just didn't want to waste any more of my time with it.

Now that you understand what the Law of Attraction really is and how it works, let’s talk about the ways you can use it to improve your life. The Law of Attraction is a universal principle that is already working in your life. Start intentionally thinking and feeling what it is you want to attract into your life — such as money, love and relationships, health and spirituality — to make the Law of Attraction work for you.
Step 1 is important because it prepares your mind and body to receive whatever you’re asking for. Our brains don’t know the difference between reality and imagination. When you engage in full, sensory imagination, your brain fires up your body to move forward. Muscles, blood flow, heart, lungs and every part of your body gear up to take part in whatever you’re imagining.
Focus as often as you can on what you do want rather than on what you don't want. After finishing this wonderful book, I'm thankful for the refresher course on using this law to help me attain the life I desire. One of the first pages describes the definition of the Law of Attraction. "I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative." This great reminder is so valuable in refocusing your efforts even if you are having success in life. The author's "observation cycle" is valuable when you realize your present life is not going well (enough) and you are causing more of the same problems if you are focused on your present circumstances. I like to think about the cycle if your life is going well too, make sure you keep focusing on the great things and don't expect bad things to happen soon. Great work on the chapter of "allowing" success in your life too. The speed of the law of attraction depends on how fast you allow the beautiful things that life represents into your life. Lastly you must have faith in the universe to allow it to bring the things you want into your life without exactly knowing how they will get meshed in your present circumstances. This last thougth is difficult but have faith and you will get there. In summary, an outstanding guide the Law.
4) Hmm... weird again. Dunno what books you've read, but that is totally false. Nothing is perfect and the "LoA" I subscribe to doesn't say what you've described. Visualizing is only one tool of LoA... one which I don't really use. The perfect relationship and perfect diet are total BS. you don't visualize those things, you either build them (a good healthy relationship, not a perfect one) or follow them (a good diet).
Surround yourself with lucky people. The people you hang out with have an influence on your outlook toward life. They have an effect on what you do and how you think and feel. Be with like-minded people who are doing what you want to be doing. Emotions are contagious. If you hang out with negative people who always complain and whine about their life and who are generally not very lucky, chances are you will soon be down on your luck. Make a conscious effort to spend time with people who have a positive outlook on life.
Thomas Jefferson said, "I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." It sounds almost like he could have been a sweeper! The more work you put into entering sweepstakes, the less you need to rely on luck. The amount of luck you need to win when you enter a single sweep is much greater than the amount you need if you enter a few hundred a day.

Unfortunately, this author has an extremely superficial understanding of the LOA. While he may claim to have read all of the books, he clearly didn't understand them. He really isn't to blame as unfortunately many of the books written on the LOA are written by people that do not fully understand it themselves. The statement that positive thoughts always bring positive things is a faulty premise that is not at the basis of the LOA.

How can a ladybug make you luckier? Some cultures say that if a ladybug lands on you and you don't brush it off, your luck will improve. Others say that if a man and a woman see a ladybug at the same time, they'll fall in love. in Belgium, a ladybug crawling across a maiden's hand was a sign that she would be married soon. A large number of ladybugs in the spring was an indication to farmers that there would be a good harvest.
We are what we attract, or so it says in this book. I initially purchased this book for my husband and it does offer some interesting reading material, just not really what I thought it would be after reading so many glowing reviews about the book. Clearly, one does have to be open-minded when reading this book, but also take it all with a grain of salt. It more reminds me of "The Secret" and all of it's hype when it was so popular. According to my understanding of the basic concepts of the book is that everything that happens or lack there of begins in our own minds. Yes, true, that "as so a man think, he becomes". The value of this book is in promoting the idea that you have more control over your life than you think. The mind is capable of a lot, including how your body lives, how you present yourself to other people, etc. When you have a positive train of thought, you will have better health, better prosperity and better life in general. That simply is true and cannot be denied. I think this book is a good stepping stone on where to begin, but is seems reminiscent of Napoleon Hill's, "Think and Grow Rich," or James Allen's, "As a Man Thinketh,". What the book doesn't tell you is that when negative things happen to you, your positive attitude can turn those things into far less tragic events. There are other books that will make this more clear.

The most challenging part of acknowledging and accepting the truth of what the Law of Attraction has to offer is coming to the realization that every single one of your decisions in life, good and bad, have been shaped by you alone. For many, this can be a bitter pill to swallow, especially if you feel that you or your loved ones have been dealt some particularly hard blows in life.
